Black Panther’s Letitia Wright denies sharing anti-Vax rhetoric on sequel set
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star Letitia Wright denies reports she shared anti-vax sentiment on the set of the film, despite her social media posts.
After being accused of spreading anti-vaccination rhetoric on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, star Letitia Wright has denied the allegations.
“It saddens me to have to address the reports published by Hollywood journalist October 6, 2021, âWright posted Wednesday on his Instagram page. âThe report was about my conduct on the set of Black Panther 2. I honestly say that was completely wrong.
Wright has previously shared anti-vax opinions on his social media. The October 6 article of Hollywood journalist Says Wright “espoused like-minded COVID-19 vaccines on Atlanta production [of the film]The article also mentions that Wright severed ties with the agency that represented her after posting a controversial anti-vax video in December 2020 on her now-deleted Twitter account.
âAnyone who knows me or has worked with me knows that I work incredibly hard at my craft and that my main goal is always to do impactful and inspiring work,â Wright continued. “This has been and will continue to be my sole focus.”
Wright has played Shuri, Princess Wakandan and her country’s leading scientist, and sister to her country’s King, T’Challa, in three Marvel Studios films, and will reprise her role in the next one. Black Panther following.
The COVID-19 pandemic remains a disruptive force in Hollywood, even in the wake of the pandemic-induced lockdown. Vaccination warrants have been a hotly contested issue around the world, and Hollywood is no exception. Disney, owner of Marvel Studios, has made COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for all of its employees, including those involved in the production of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and all of the company’s future films.
